Turn the water off in the house. Remove the handles. Loosen the packing nuts behind the handles,"they hold the cartridges or valve stems". Loosen the valve stem by turning counter clockwise and remove it. Get new parts from the hardware store, including seats and a seat wrench. Remove the seats in the valve body. The seats enable a tight, leak proof fit to the valve stem. Install new valve stems and handles ect.
