If you use a pale yellow , antique white, or similar, it will showcase any of those furnishings beautifully. If your rooms become too overall 'dark', just add something in yellows and a few bright red items to further highlight the darker furnishings and make them richer in color -by contrast.That grey-blue carpet will almost glow.
