Use the opposite switch of the one you want to use or save. There should be 3 wires connected to switch with 1 at bottom and 2 at top, and hopefuly there are 2 blacks a 1 red. Disconnect both blacks off switch and wire together and cap off thus making the other switch a single sitch and working. You may need to flip over so works as on at top and off at bottom. Cap off red at other switch and use blank switch cover to cover
