Vinyl or some type of eco friendly alternative.  Wood or laminate.

According to me, Tile or vinyl is best options in any room that has water. I have had hardwood, and when the dish washer leaked, I had warped hardwood. Laminate flooring warps as well. Tile repels water and is easy to clean.

There are a lot of options for kitchen floors and it is quite difficult to decide which one is the best. The way to determine is to consider the balancing style, function and comfort it can provide. Since the kitchen is the part of your house that most likely to be crowded in by either your family, friends and even pets so the flooring should be able to handle when everyone congregates in this room. Among the top choices are cork flooring which is consider to be highly sustainable plus it is quite good in terms of moisture-resistant and slip-resistant. You can also try the vinyl flooring which is quite budget-friendly, easy to clean and maintain plus it comes in a good number of styles and assortment of colors. If you want something hard you can try porcelain tile flooring and stone flooring. But personally, I would love to recommend hardwood flooring or engineered hardwood. This is extremely durable, moisture-resistant and gives a really great look for your kitchen. Plus it can be well-matched with the flooring of other rooms since you can transition the style depending to your floor plan.
