Wood pellets are made from biomass. Sawdust, tree tops, just stuff left over from sawmill. Other things are used as well, like coconut shell. These things are made into a dough-like substance, which is then compressed. During compression, heat is generated and triggers a substance in this blend, that acts as glue, binding the product together.
