Any tricks to get stubborn seeds to germinate?

Don't know if you've tried this but I've always taken seeds and put then in between two damp paper towels for a few days to soften them up and you'll soon see the sprouts starting to grow out of them. Seems to work for almost any stubborn seeds! Keep the paper towels almost wet and I bet they'll start to grow for you.
