Before I moved to this house, I had a really big house and I spent two weeks getting rid of stuff . I had a two  week long garage sale and the notice I put in the paper only said this:

"Midlife  crisis garage sale. This is the one folks!"

And I had people come from hundred of miles to buy things. Now I am going through it again . Same reason- I don't want my children to have to deal with any of it.  I am going to make it really basic. So much leas stress that way.

I have a lot f things that I don't need. It's way past time for me to begin going through my things and get rid of things I no longer use.

Yeah, after 56 years of marriage we've accumulated some. We're just beginning to clear some of it. The charity shops have been happy so far with what we've given them, but the junk will have to go to the council tip.

What's a council tip?

Dunno the American term for it. It's a waste depot where the council leaves our trash after the weekly collection. They're called rubbish tips, or rubbish dumps.

You may not know that when the Lone Ranger wanted to take his trash out he climbed aboard his trusty hoss and sang, "HI ho, Silver. To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump..." all to the tune of the William Tell Overture.

No, I donate all the old things I don't need. Hoarding stuff and having things everywhere clutters your mind. I've been inside people's closets and I doubt they wear even 10% of the things in there.

I have a fair amount, but not as much as most people my age (mid-50s). My husband was in the Army so we moved a lot. No sense in moving something you don't use.

My mom had a lot of stuff/items 99% was discarded. Old and some how water and mold had gotten in. The smell was terrible. All stack neatly. Lol

Five years ago I packed my mother-in-law's house for a move. After my mother saw how much useless stuff my mother-in-law had she went and cleaned out her closets and cupboards. Then my brother ans sister-in-law moved with her because their house sold before they found another one. After they moved out my mother went through all her stuff again.
