Have you ever had a black and white TV, and if so, do you still have it?

That's all we had until color TV's came out. We got our first color set when I was about 10-12 years old. Don't have one now though.

I think I was 12 or 13 before we could afford a color TV.

I think I was about the same age when we got ours. But you know, Wizard of Oz really jacked me up - part of it in color and the other part in black and white!

I grew up watching shows on a black and white tv and ditched those things completely back in 1978.

I had one of the first color TV's when they first came out---about all you could watch in color was Johnny Carson, but the NBC peacock was quite a sight.

Kept my small Sears portable black and white until I no longer needed a TV in my garage when I was puttering around during the football games---finally threw it away about 15 years ago.

And to prevent the spread of error, black is the absence of color

We got one when I was a kid back in '56 - big old RCA.  When wife and I were married back  67,  my in-laws gave us an old Emerson Portable which we used for years.  Every once in a while, therwe would be some sort of arc and a flash from tghe back and it would go dead.  After a minute or so, it woulsd "re-boot" and be fine for days.

Yes, we had a black and white TV. Haven't had one for many years now. And I agree about The Wizard Of Oz being black and white and then turning into color. That was pretty amazing.

Yes, we did. It never bothered me that it was in black and white. I haven't seen one since I was younger. When t.v.went to digital it made all the tv's obsolete.
