I love to hike and take nature photographs. ย This is the French Canyon waterfall in Starved Rock State Park, right here in Illinois. ย Boy, was it cold that day!

Here's Wildcat Canyon.

We camped there for the first time this year. I converted the minivan into a camper and it's so fun!!!
Previously, we rented cabins. I think we've stayed in every one!!!
We're only an hour away, so we day trip a lot too.

We've never rented cabins only stayed at the lodge. Our several camping attempts somehow always failed :( One time our trolley tour guide told us that the cabins were made from telegraph poles!

I like to set up an outdoor counseling session for unicorns that develop a complex from being screamed at too much.

Well, we wouldn't scream at them, if they learned to keep that horn to themselves! Some of them have gotten quite.....um.....horny with their horn...and that's all I'm gonna say about THAT!

After the first warm weekend this year, my teacher was a little annoyed by the fact that I just watched TV outside the whole time :) he said it defeated the purpose, but I think it combines two great things into something greater

I think screaming at unicorns has taken the lead in this!

Okay, this is getting serious - because unicorns CANNOT fly.

Pegasus is the one who does the flying...actually there is a big debate going on because some folks claim unicorns can fly even though they have no wings, just because they are magical.

But here is an authentic photograph of Pegasus and everybody can see for themself...no horn.

Tomatoes and carrots and yellow bell peppers and cucumbers and blueberries and straight up the indigo plant and the skin of eggplants all in a smoothie.

My local state park (Shavers Creek in Pennsylvania) has everything from trails to a lake to birds of prey that can't survive alone due to accidents in enclosures. On free days I'll drive out there, normally with a kayak or my sketch book, and walk the trails for a few hours enjoying the untouched Pennsylvania wilderness.

Hello Abigail, welcome. We are practically neighbors. My kids went to Shavers Creek for outdoor school when they were in elementary school. I live in the Seven Mountains area which has Poe Valley, Poe Paddy, Penn Roosevelt, and Alan Seeger State Parks. You and I are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. :)

I just like to sit near the river. I enjoy watching the water
flowing down peacefully and listening to the sweet melodies of the birds. It is
a very relaxing activity. Especially if you had a hectic week at work or some stressful
days at school. For me, nature represents peacefulness.
