First things first here, you would need to ensure that you can use your residential space for mixed use. This will allow both commercial and residential uses for your business. There may be other permits you’ll have to apply instead, so I would start there.

Permits are not easy to get but once you do get one, you will be required to follow certain commercial kitchen laws and regulations as well as have the appropriate fire prevention and protection measures in place. The more you have, the better it will be for your insurance policy as well. This can include having the proper fire extinguishers on-site and having a fire suppression system built into your kitchen.
