There is a quote by Robert H. Schuller that in part states: Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Can anyone tell me why?

In the winter you can't assume that a tree that looks dead IS dead. All deciduous trees look dead in winter, since they have dropped their leaves. Better wait till spring to be sure..So maybe you want to be sure you're cutting down a tree that is alive and not dead.
