My glasses broke around the part that keeps the long stick part and the actual glasses together I taped it together but it's not perfectly taped. Any advice?

How long have you had your glasses? Where did you get them? What is their policy in regards to broken glasses? Do you have vision insurance?

Did the screw come out? If so, that's a pretty easy fix. Several stores sell the little tube that has a tiny screwdriver and screws in it - I've seen them at Target in their Optical center; Walmart also carries them, Lenscrafters, etc.

If it's not the screw, you should take them to where you bought them and see if they can be repaired.

Happens to everybody from time to time. I don't know the situation where you are but in Oz any optician can and will repair them, often without charge. Even if you have to pay it's not very much, and it's worth it.

I had no cataracts, either. They were CSR's. If your mother has no physical problems then, as a layman and a total know-nothing, I can't imagine how surgery could help.
