We always wanted a house in the country. When a little one-room schoolhouse came up in need of saving, we jumped at the idea! It's been a lot of work, but I love it. The peace and quiet is bliss. :)
My dad was transferred to this little town right after I graduated high school. Upon his retirement, they moved back to where we originally lived but I stayed here and I'm glad I did.
My mom passed, and I had to move where my dad was, and I'm still here, but only for the moment.
I moved 1000 miles and 30 years to get away from my dead mom and certain relatives.
I'm very happy 😄I did.
I had to find somewhere cheap to live, all i have is social security disability and my health is going down the tube. My next place may be the grave yard
Family, almost all of mine lives here in New Jersey. But, its overpriced and and nothing special about it.
I bought this house in 1971 on a G.I. Loan when I came home from my first tour. Wasn't much out here then. I rented it out when I decided to go on a second tour and finally came back to it 7 years later. Married the young lady that was renting it and pretty much lived here since 1978. Still my home !
Jobs. Jobs everywhere. Unlimited opportunities. Things to do at night and places to go on the weekends. Lots of friends to make. Then somewhere along the line fell in love and got married. Suddenly little people started appearing. Had to move 20 minutes south into the suburbs where people compete on who has the better looking front yard. But the school district is great, one of the best in the state.
I live in a townhouse in Gainesville because I currently attend college here.
The house I grew up in is the house my parents bought after they were married--my dad grew up in the area and they decided to live there when he got a good job there.
My husband grew up in the house across the street. His sister now owns it. When his best friends house across the street came up for rent, we moved in. After renting the house for a few years, we ended up buying it. I was 9 months pregnant when we moved in. We've lived in this house for 21 years. Husband has lived on this street for 46 years.
While looking for a house for my mother-in-law to rent I found a house for sale that I really liked. I asked my husband if we could rent the house we were in to his mother and us move. I showed him this house online and we contacted the realtor the next day. We walked in and my husband turned to me and said we were moving. That was June last year. I love my house and will only move out when I need a gurney to do so. Either in a body bag or going into a nursing home. Hopefully that will be 30 or more years from now.
I was tired of the mice holding parties at the old place where I lived.
Needed more space than I had before. I was suffocating in my previous flat, so...
