Yes, it should ! Baking soda will neutralize 75% of most acids ! Same thing we used to clean acid and corrosion residue from car batteries and it's stronger than drain cleaner. Your plumber is right in what he's telling you. Good luck !
Does baking soda neutralize ALL drain cleaners? got someone coming tomorrow and they said to put baking soda down the drain "so the workers dont get burned" but they are COMPLETELY clogged (So its just 2 small puddles of drain acid)
