The first major recycling center in the US was started in New York City in 1897. They collected rags, newspaper, and trash into paper. Recycle has four different definitions. A transitive verb meaning to put or pass through a cycle again as for further treatment. Starting a different cycle. To extract useful substances from garbage or waste. To extract and reuse useful substances found in waste. Use again, especially to reprocess, recycled. To recondition and adapt to a new use or function, recycling. People are using more bottles and cans than ever. Recycling creates new products, conserves natural resources, and reduces energy use.
What almost every bottle and can you use can be recycled. Look at the labels for universal recycle symbols and CA cash refund, containers with markings can be accepted to recycling center or curbside. Products are allowed for disposal in recycling containers: Aluminum cans, glass, jars, bottles, steel, bimetal, tin cans, empty aerosol containers, PET (clear plastic bottles) plastic, HPDE plastic, plastic types 3-7, plastic bags, shrink wrap, plastic toys, tools, juice boxes and milk  cartons, scrap metal foil, coat hangers, mixed papers, corrugated cardboard, telephone books, even printer cartridges.
How add recycling to your daily routine any box or trash can makes an excellent recycling bin. Don’t have to wash or crush your recyclables. Just separate aluminum, glass, and plastic containers in different bags or bins, and recycle center wait.
Where Look for recycling bins any where you live work or play. There are approximately 2,000 recycling centers across the state that will redeem California Refund value on your bottles and cans. Every bottle and can you recycle eases the strain on our natural resources and reduces greenhouse gases into the air and onto our skies.
Some general statistics involve recycling. Recycling one ton of trees can save about seventeen trees. The recycling industry employs tons of thousands of people. Recycling a ton of clear plastic bottles saves 7.4 cubic square yards is landfill space. When 14 PET twelve ounce bottles are recycled a one extra large tee-shirt can be your result. Your could watch more than two and a half hours of television with energy saved from recycling one aluminum can. One plastic bottle not recycled takes 700 years refusing to degrade taking up trash space. An aluminum can has a life span of eighty to one hundred years of getting tossed around into a landfill instead of a recycling bin. Recycling requires less energy than using new material and produces less waste. As long as one million years a glass bottle will sit in a landfill. Recycling is important in our modern world. Recycle everything you can and you will be helping to create a brighter future. Every ton of paper also saves a total of four barrels of oil, 4,200 kilowatt hours of energy. Enough energy to heat and air condition the average North American home for almost six months (Bill-Nye the science guy.)

The first major recycling center in the United States was started in New York City in1897. They collected newspaper, rags, and trash to be turned into paper. The process of recycling paper is pulping to separate the fibers screening to remove cotaminations and large pulp fibers. By mixing it the pulp and cleaning it with a cleaning solution and spinning at high speeds then passing through air to create a foam. This is from the ink left in paper and other contamination will stick too and will be removed by bleaching, and then the paper can be made. Making paper involves several steps. Beginning with logs, the large tree trunk come from a wood yard. Second the logs are fed into this revolving Barking Drum to remove the bark. Next into the chipper the logs go to cut the trees into chips. Fourthly the chips drop into the chip washer to be cleaned. Into huge tanks the chips are going to be treated in the digester. Refiners are the machines, with rotating disks to break the pulp down into individual fibers. Now passed to pulp washers are rinsed off from chemicals from the digesting process. The pulp is passed through screens that remove debris, knots another unwanted material. The head box forms the paper. Where wet fibers are spread across a moving plastic screen called wire water drains off. Leaving a mat of fiber suction services next this mat passes between two rollers to square out most of the water. Cylinders that steam-heated further dry. Smoothed between different cylinders of calendar stacks. Last a giant roll that cylinder calendar stacks feed a large roll of paper is shipped to manufacture for finishing products’.

Paper recycling process includes three types of paper material to produce recycled paper products: Mill-broke, pre-consumer and post consumer. Mill-broke is trimmings and scraps of paper left over from manufacturing after the paper in the mills are packaged. Pre-consumer is the discarded paper before it is actually distributed or used by consumers such as unsolid materials. Post consumer is paper that has been consumed and sent to the recycling center. In 2006 slightly more than fifty-three percent of cosumed paper in the United States was recovered from recycling products. Paper products still make up the largest component of the city garbage pick up and takes up merly forty percent of landfills.

Recycling starts by checking with your states department of public works to find out local curbside recycling and community drop-off centers, or looking under recycling in the yellow pages. Separate your paper into three groups: White office paper, newspaper and mixed colored. Most curbsides will collect it away. Recycle all white papers together. Be sure to remove all the wrappers they come in. These are a lower grade of paper that still can be recycled but not with office whites. Recycle the wrappers with the mixed color papers. Take newspaper and place them in a brown bag. Brown bags cannot be recycled with the newspapers though. Tie the newspapers into bundles color advertisements can be recycled also. Rubber bands and plastic cannot be added in the same recycled goods. All the colored paper from magazines to junk mail. Staples do not need to be removed. However remove stickers, membership cards and non-paper. American Forest will appreciate your recycled paper.

Coca-Cola recycling has worked the Coca-Cola system and community partners to increase the collection of beverage packaging for use again and again in North America. We currently manage thirty centers dedicated to recycling over our country. Coca-Cola recycling is developing cost-effective solutions for reusing beverage containers, like for water drinking. Last year Coca-Cola recycling recovered over two hundred million pounds of recyclable and has a goal to reach five hundred million pounds by 2010. In 2004 Bank of America recycled twenty-eight thousand, two hundred and sixty-eight tons of paper. Recycling about sixty-one percent of its paper and saving a million dollars a year. Benefits of recycling, saving room in landfills, reducing energy to make new products, teaching youth importance of saving our environment, and it cost nothing to operate recycling programs. People are using more bottles and cans than ever; recycling creates new products, conservation to natural resources, and reduces energy. Most items which can be recycled are being sent away to be processed so they can be used again. Every bottle and can you recycle eases the strain on our natural resources and reduces gases going into the air and into the sky. An idea that if you want shade for your home, you could always plant a tree outside. Using both sides of a sheet of paper is a good idea. USA found using recycled materials in paper products causes thirty-five percent less water pollution and seventy-four percent less air pollution. Recycling half the world paper could save twenty million acres of forest. In 1972, the sums of one thousand ninety-nine billion aluminum cans were recycled. If you place those cans together end to end they would reach the moon and back one hundred and seventy-four times.

The next point is reusing. The recovery of materials and products for the similar or a similar end use. Taking useful products such as furniture, books and appliances discarded by those who no longer want them. Potential reuse is likely more than 736,ooo tons per year, even if it is so large not all is reusable but is recyclable instead (Science Applications International Corporation, 2ooo). Only small fractions of reusable in the waste stream are significant or expanded for the support for reuse. Reuse is a strategy that has levels of benefits. While eliminating waste and reducing waste disposal costs, reusing conserves energy and materials. Reusing is a non-profit organization, but can low-income people gain offers to a quality product. Values of goods through strategy, reuse operations are enormous. People see the value of recovered goods instead of just depositing them. There is success in reusing. Recycling a bicycle has not only kept bicycles out of the waste stream and in the hands of youth than will use them, but also taught skills and marketable trade to youth (www.recycleabicycle). Reuse operations need workers who are well trained in commercial driving, forklift operations, equipment operations, logistics, inspection, grading, disassembly and repair.

Recycling saves energy helps stimulate the economy and good for the Earth. Recycling knows less pollution and results in proper disposal. Recycle and reduce the amount of waste going to the landfills. Reduce millions pounds of paper more by recycling each year and turn old material into new products. It is better to recycle and put back into use.

One way that recycling helps the planet is by reducing the demand for raw materials. Recycled paper means fewer trees cut down. Recycled metal means less ore mined out of the ground. Since logging and mining both damage the environment, this reduces the amount of environmental damage that humans are  causing.

In addition, recycling used materials back into new ones requires much less energy than producing new ones from raw materials. So recycling also reduces energy usage, which also helps to avoid environmental damage.

Recycling doesnt help the environment because of all the pollution it causes. Think about every truck, boat, train, or any other thing that is used to transport recyclables. Do you know how much is needed to fuel those things? They all take send pollutants into the environment every day. Also some recycling centers don't even use most materials and still cause more pollution than its worth. Everyone in the world should live in private civilizations and go back to living with only things that they need. If everyone lived like Amish people they world would be in al ot better shape. Its people and there new way of living that is going to bring the world to an end. Its coming and there is no way to stop it unless we adapt to eat our own waste and breathe toxic fumes, recycling is a waste of time, money and resources.

It gets shipped off to Greenland where a big paper monster lives who eats all the worlds paper products. The problem is that the monster's body temperature is slowly melting the ice in Greenland making oceans rise by about 1 cm per year.

Very little. I agree in recycling and reusing but the process of turning waste into products uses a lot of fossil energy and is only cost effective when the products are more durable and last longer to justify the prices, like composite decking. The truth is that all these enviromental ideas and going green use just as much natural resource to produce and leaves a more concentrated carbon footprint than our cars but we don't see that happening so we don't worry as much. There is no way we can produce energy without also producing waste. Well maybe Doc brown will sell Mr. Fussion
