It would be best to have this cat or dog examined by a veterinarian to confirm ear mites as the source of the itching. They will also screen for infection (bacterial or yeast)--this may be a primary or secondary problem. If the skin around the ear pinnae is infected they will prescribe appropriate medication. Medications to treat ear mites and/or topical medication for infected ear canals.

My cat keeps scratching his ears, Now he has a huge scab at the back of his ears. I know for a fact that he has ear mites. How do I heal his ears, and keep him from scratching them again. So they can heal?
