They are there for a reason. SAFETY. Bypassing them is a bad idea. Are you sure they're aligned properly, maybe they got knocked off?
It is nearly impossible but can be done, I won't tell you how. However, they can be moved. For example, I didn't want my dogs activating them because they want to run in the garage when it opens, so I raised them up, higher than the dogs, but lower than the rear of a vehicle or small child.
