House bugs are very common and can be caused by a large variety of things. The location of these bugs is the first way to identify these insects. Insects will always have a reason for inhabiting a house, and more often than not, this reason is food. If these bugs are in the kitchen, or are originating from the kitchen and moving round the house, then they could possibly be fruit flies or weevils. Fruit flies are characterised by their small size and attraction to fruit, hence their name.
Once fruit flies have inhabited an area they can be incredibly hard to get rid of and will stay around food sources and are especially attracted to sugary food and fruit. Weevils on the other hand are very different; being small black or brown beetle like creatures they cannot fly and thus appear to be less of a household nuisance. These small beetle like creatures can, however, cause a great deal of damage if they get into store cupboards or larders. The bugs will inhabit flour bags and grain, here they will make nests and reproduce. This leads to a lot of flour and grain being lost to the weevils.
Other similar small household bugs include the fur beetle which lives in carpets, fur coats and other such items, they will also inhabit food items and can often ruin whole cupboards full of food. These creatures will lay their larvae in carpets which will cause severe damage to them, which will often only be reparable by replacing the whole carpet.
