We've have good luck with laminate flooring when you have dogs / kids high traffic issues. We now have custom maple floors from here, and they look awesome but do cause me to worry about scratches etc.

If your local Costco don't have it ask them where else you can buy it. You might be able to find it online, and maybe they can order it they just don't stock it. If they don't try a different Costco. I would try that. If that don't work and you can't find it online. I would try another store that sells similar flooring, and see if they can find it somewhere for you. Good luck.
