Wooden puppets consist of figures that are suspended from the air with the use of string. The body parts of the puppets are semi detached from each other with joints existing between the limbs, feet etc. each body part has another set of strings controlling them. There are pieces of string that are attached to the lower jaw as well. These strings lead up to a controller's hand that is kept hidden behind a screen. The movement of the puppets can be controlled by pulling on the individual strings. The puppets have also to be richly coloured and decorated and finally they are mostly elaborately dressed as well. The materials that are used are wood for the puppet's body, cloth for the apparel and paint. You can also make a puppet stage on which the puppets perform.
