DO NOT use cayenne pepper it can ruin the cats eyes and make them scratch their eyes out try a scare crow water sprinkler it deters the cat straight away as they hate water I have tried many things such as coffee beans which work but if you have a dog they a bad for them..I have tried sprays and repellents but they wash away they do work but have to keep spraying which can be expensive the scare crow sprinkler is the best that I have found other than chicken wire just under the ground and that stops them from digging any further down..
