Tom Dasher answered 3/14/2008 Why Would My Electric Hot Water Heater Keep Tripping The Breaker? Possible shorted heating element. Turn off power to water heater, disconnect both upper and lower elements and ohm with meter. If shorted, will show 0 ohms on meter.
