The banyan tree is a very important tree in the Indian culture and the Hindu religion. It is considered to be a very sacred tree in the Hindu religion. In the sacred book of the Hindu religion which is known as the 'Bhagavad Gita', it is mentioned that the banyan tree is considered to be the king of all trees in the forest. The reason why the banyan tree is supposed to be of a sacred entity is due to its branches which are spread far and beyond. It is a lesson to every human being that just like the tree it has to spread its existence by working hard like the tree. It also depicts the life of a soul which is never ending and always progressing.

The tree is also considered to be the national tree of India as you will find in every nook and corner of the nation.
