I have a Kenmore dishwasher (66515762000) which need a new "water inlet valve"  I now have the new inlet valve on-hand and need to install it.  Problem:  Wires coming from the dishwasher have two wires (one wire is a solid brown and the other wire is brown with a white strip on it).  At the end of these two wires they are inside a square plastic box with two female square openings to connnect to the water inlet value.  The connections for the water inlet valve has 2 prongs.  What is the correct way to connect the 2 prongs from water inlet value to the two different color wires.  Help! Thanks P

Today I googled 'kenmore dishwasher won't pump' and got plenty of useless info.

Drain as best you can
pull the dishwasher
pull the power
pull the drain pump
remove three screws holding the housing on the drain pump
pull out the object that doesn't belong (broken glass in my case)
reassemble everything

Which Kenmore washer?
Most washing machines are controlled by an electo-mechanical controller.  The can be replaced and usually cost about $100.  The most common reason a washing machine won't drain is a failed pump.  Can you tell if the controller turns the pump on at the end of a cycle?  Does the pump run but need several tries to empty the tub?  There are several DIY repair manuals available.  If you are not comfortable with tearing your washing machine apart and putting it back together, call an appliance repair service.

I had the same problem with my kenmore. Mine would wash properly sounded like it would drain but no water would come out the discharge hose. Here is what I did. Remove the discharge hose from the dishwasher.  The plastic tube that the hose was removed that is attached to the dishwasher is a check valve.  It allows water to drain but not do come back in from the sink.  Mine was clogged.  It was threaded into the pump housing.  I twisted it counter clockwise to remove it.  I inserted a thin screwdriver into the tube and removed the clog and insured the check valve was working properly.  Now things work good. Hope this helps.
