The pro's are good money, both apprentice and journey level. If you are union, the benefits,health dental,family. Creating homes, buildings,foundations,etc. The con's are that it is seasonal work and on down season you are on unemployment. Hard labor work, and if union, union dues. Also with residential construction, due to the homeowners buying market, no work

Pros:
Keeps you really fit, good pay, gain skills to support yourself or family/friends.

Cons:
Seasonal work, hard labor, can be dangerous.

The cons are it is hard on your joints and can be very dusty

The advantage to be a carpenter is that you can have a craft to support yourself,the disadvantage is that you have to be with the wood all day long.I think it will be  boring if you don't have any interest.
