Go with some colors you have in the furniture, rug or nik-naks. But don't get too matchy-matchy. Too much of the same all over is just boring.
A nice burnt red would go nicely, but it depends on the color of the furniture in the room...I have gold and red in my kitchen. I personally think it is a dramatic look, and looks rich. My friend did one very narrow in her living room and it looks wonderful..
White for sure, I'd also suggest a brown, or if you really want to make it pop out maybe an orange color. Make sure to get some color strips to compare before you decide to go through with it though! In case you don't like it.
