RC, your doggie is like NoMo! Did you ever watch Sheriff Tex...oh wait, maybe it was Stan Boreson...as a child? Are you old enough?
The famous hydroplane boat on Lake Washington was SloMo V or something like that...so Stan Boreson's basset hound was named NoMo...

Anyway, your Hunter is wonderful and beautiful, ty for photo of nice hound.

people over look the small things when it comes to this. What makes a house a home is being able to go into the kitchen and make yourself a hot chocolate and relax on the couch whenever you please and not being told you can't and being bossed about. What makes a house a home is not feeling anxious and worried 24/7 in the place you're staying in, a place where you can always feel relaxed and calm, a house is a home when you can take a shower ever you want without being told when and being bitched at whenever you do decide to have one at your own time. (if i knew what i know now before i moved into this "home" i would have said NO FUDGING WAY)

Dear HappyTwo,

The British-born American poet Edgar Guest (1881-1959) has addressed your question:

* * *

It ain't home t' ye, though it be the palace of a king

Until somehow yer soul is sort o' wrapped round everything.

The energy that its inhabitants bring.

It's not the size of the structure nor the "things" within it .. I've seen some magnificent million dollar houses that lack something ..something that even a small 1 bedroom apartment can offer given the right elements .. The energy from love and comfort.

Differences between house and home starts from the very start of it's definition. We have many houses in the world, but which is your home ?

Home is where you could love and feel beloved

Home is where you can reach your comfort zone and live as you wish

Home is a place empty of forces and dominance, constant stress and tension caused by people or equipment within.

Home is where you can relax and enjoy your time.

Home is where the heart is.

If you have a family you always have a home. Even without a house! You could call almost any place of shelter a "home", in light of that.

Ya know, I stopped quantifying our human experiences. Pain is pain. We each experience it differently.

I can tell you this.

1st= I had induced labor that finally ended on day 3.
2nd= I had unmedicated labor.
3rd= I shattered my foot and ankle.

They ask you to rate your pain on a scale of 1-10. I had NO perspective of that scale, until I broke my foot.
** "Blind with pain" is not just an expression. I was BLIND when the pain after foot surgery got out of control.
** I had to ask my husband if I'd screamed aloud. (I didn't.)
** I lost all control of my body functions.

1st=7
2nd=6
3rd=10

Now, that said. We each experience pain differently. It's quite possible for a sprain patient to feel that "10" too.
OR
It could be that they don't realize how bad pain can get.
OR
Sometimes the soft tissue can heal more slowly than bone, so they could be referring to the healing time.

No matter. I've stopped quantifying pain. Each person deserves our empathy and all the help we can provide to help them heal.

Well said, I realistically think that breaking a bone if much more painful in general then most pain of lesser impact or damage. Pain is very personal, those scales have hardly any place imo. But damn.. at least that is over. That must have been terrible.

I have yet to experience that kind of blind with pain. I certainly hope that doesn't change!

The break itself didn't hurt. It was the surgery !!!!

Hi Hanery! Good to see you again.
Thank you for this thoughtful answer. Problems are behind every door of every home. I agree. It's how we support and share that brings us through.

Hi
there! Very good question and I do hope that you have collected wise answers! I
personally believe that a house simply is all about brick walls! It has no
life, warmth or comfort. However, a home is where you want to be as it has a
certain level of luxury and calm. It also has the family, pets and the ability
to keep you safe. We all need a home!

A home needs a heart and the people that lives in it give it that! It's what people do to personalise their bedrooms and the pictures they hang up in the living room and the little eccentricities that differentiate one property from another. That's the soul of a home.

A house becomes a home if your family is there to help you and be
by your side whenever you are happy or sad. You can also be as comfortable as
you want there. According to me, a person who lives with his dear ones is
happier than someone who lives away from his dear ones.
