I Want To Build A Wooden Elevated Water Cistern. It Needs To Be About Six Foot Round . I Am Only Using It For Looks At My Log Home. I Can't Find Plans For One. Any Ideas Or Links.?

I grew in New Orleans, during a time when wooden elevated water cisterns very common. They conical in shape, wider at the bottom that the the top. The inside was
coated with tar. The top was made of tin; with one section that was able to slide to
one side. That was able to open when it rain.

I don't have an answer for you, but I live in a log home and would also like to build a "for looks only" elevated cistern. I sincerely hope we get an answer.

I've worked out a method for construction that would work for a "for looks only" cistern or a functional one. What part of the country are you in?
