What Size Air Conditioner Unit Do I Need To Cool A 1600 Square Foot House?

It really depends on your climate and how well the home is insulated. I have 4 tons in Texas in a house that is around 1500 square feet. That`s not enough on a 100 plus degree day but it is more than enough at night and I don`t want higher electric bills. So we just concentrate on removing enough humidity so that we are comfortable and put up with a little more heat during the hottest times.
