I checked all the hoses...and tightened the clamp to the drain hose.  But it is still leaking at the bottom.  I have a top loading machine.

If the connecting hoses is not a problem then it is probably be the pump present inside the machine. It helps in moving and draining the water. If it's not working then such problems might arise. This pump is not very expensive and are easily available in the market. But it is best that you ask the plumber to replace it instead of you doing it yourself.
