I have removed the tub from Washer but need to seperate the rear tub from complete basket for Whirlpool washer, Model #WFW8500SR02. I need to get the crosspiece asm out. Can you tell me how to remove the rear tub from basket.
If you have the model LCR7244HQ2, please follow below:
1)remove the top ( 4 screws at rear of washer top, see the tech sheet for details), you can remove all connection except the hose of water lever. So be careful, don't break it), the top is still connected with tub.
2)remove the agitator ( 1 philippe screw near its bottom)
3)grab the balance ring, so the washer cabinet should be off ground, use a hammer to hit the shaft, the basket will be removed.
Try it! I just did it today with my washer. I hope I can fix the leaking from tub soon.
