There are several ways of insulating floorboards but one well known method is the usage of gap seals. Gap-seal is a material which is used to insulate floorboards. It can also be used for the insulation of skirting boards, gaps in sash windows, or any other gap between 1mm and 8mm wide.

This is very easy and quite affordable too. If you employ a professional then the work may look more polished but you can also do it yourself without much difficulty. You just have to evenly insert or fill all the gaps on your floor board to insulate them. This material also has the advantage of expanding and contracting with the changes happening in the wood. Some of the other materials that you can use for floorboard insulation are papier mache, wood filler, or silicon.
