You only need one of these, which is fitted at the top outlet of the hot water cylinder, if the hot water you are supplying to the shower valve is pumped. Their sole purpose is to remove air bubbles from the hot water which would cause problems as the water passes through the pump, so unless you have a pump you don't need one!
