Before I can answer this question, I need some answers from you.
1. What type of table.
2. Is it solid wood with stain and clear finish or vinyl or plastic over particle board.
3. Can you attach a narrow wooden retainer strip around the edges.
4. What is the purpose of the glass.
There are ways to do most anything, but you have to know what your working with in order to do the right job.

I have the same question. The round table is an unknown real wood made in China for our dining room. We want to show it off but use it everyday and are tired of hiding it with a table cloth. I was about to order a glass top to protect it when I read online that covering wood tables with glass will warp them?! I had never heard of that. Is this true? Also, some people suggested putting rubber gaskets between the wood and glass to leave breathing room. What do you think?

Based on what you are telling me, I would suggest that you use 3/16" tempered glass with beveled edges and transparent rubber feet placed about 12" in each direction. This should allow an air space to prevent moisture from building up on the underside of the glass and also help to keep the glass from sliding. Your rubber feet should be approx. 1/2" in diameter.
