If you suspect a leak inside your house first don't light any matches, no sparks, no smoking. Make a soapy solution of dish soap and water, put it in a spray bottle. Spray this on areas you suspect are leaking. It will be very obvious where the leak is cause there will be bubbles formed.
If you find a tiny leak in a fitting you need to shut off the gas and then replace the fittings with new and use suitable sealant on the joints.
