I have an Urban Home red sectional, 2 sofas and a chaise.   The sun has faded the color.   I want to dye it red instead of buying a new sectional as I have 3 different pieces and 13 pillows for the base and back.   Is this possible?   Could the pillows or the base shrink?   Please let me know if this is a good idea.   A new sectional would be very expensive.

If the fibre is cotton it should dye with dyes available to the public, check potential shrinkage by washing the covers and checking for fit ( leave damp). If the base colour needs stripping use a proper dye stripping agent (non chlorine based). Never fill the washing machine drum over half full to avoid patchy results ( dye and stripping). When splitting the sofa into multiple loads always record the exact weight and add the same percentage by weight of dye to each batch.
