This is a tough one.
You can try stuffing steele wool tightly into the hole and then putting the screw back in. The steele wool should wrap around the screw and hold it securely.
Other than that, you might try filling the hole full of wood filler, let it dry for about 3 days, then put the screw back in. Never tried this method before though.
