THis question is two years old so I hope you have already done something. However if this comes up again then I have something for you to try. You cannot use regular paint because it is too thick and clogs up the pores in the surface of the shade making it look awful. There are lighter tints that are used to paint on wicker or there are colors formulated to spray paint dried flowers. Either of these paints can be used to change the color of your lampshade. Just remember to use several light coats of paint.
