The pair of wires from the wall switch were probably meant to be a switch loop. The black ties in with the powered wires in the ceiling box. The white from the switch should tie in with the black and blue of the fan.....The remaining white in the ceiling box should tie together. This will make the following statement true......Power originates in the ceiling box..travel down the black wire to the switch. When the switch is in the on position, it allows power to continue along the white wire into the fans black motor source and the lights blue source wire...when the fans switches are on , power will then continue to travel through the fan light out the white wire of the fan back to the ceiling boxes white...thus completing the circuit and incorporating the switch into the equation
