Nail polish remover lifts the color of the wood up or pulls the color out. You will have to repair the damaged part of the floor where the nail polish remover came into contact with it.
If you can find the color stain the floors are done in, then you can just re stain that part of the flooring, if not, then you would have to use an electric sander to sand the hardwood down and re stain the entire floor with a wood stain of your choice, but you will need to apply a coat of wood conditioner and let it dry before applying the stain.
