Am taking it you don't already have an existing switch to work from so once youve decided where to locate switch and cut in a cut-in box, you need to get power to it and a switch leg (2 wires at least) up to your first light and then to each light beyond ; first box to second box to third box.  Ceiling boxes wires will color code to each other; black to black, white to white, etc.  In the switch box,  the whites and copper/green wires cap off to each similar color only.  The remaining 2 blacks, 1-hot and 1- switch leg to 1st light go on your switch. Remember wherever you draw power from the black is hot and white is neutral and copper, green is ground. Don't work with live power. Good luck
