What about a brick, sort of orangey red? I have a light green color in my living room (Martha Stewart's Seedling green), and I used Martha Stewart's "Brick" in the kitchen and they coordinate beautifully without being too red. Tan or beige would also work if you wanted more neutral colors IMO.
