I used the rubbing alcohol with a white dish rag, and white hand towel. Worked great! The key is to use it generously, don't think you have to be careful and only use a little bit at a time. Saturate an area of your rag and scrub. We have a tan colored microfiber ottoman that our 3-year old granddaughter used as paper. I thought I was going to be sick. Thanks Google Friends! That was a great ~ easy ~ tip!
WOW is all I kept on saying... My 2 yr old son drew on my sisters mocha colored microfiber couch and I came to this site and heard to try hairspray.... It was amazing how fast it came out
Hair spray worked great on my red microfiber couch after my son wrote on it with the ball point pen. It was fast and easy and didn't stain or bleach out the fabric. Just spray it on and blot it off with a wash rag.
My 2 yr old drew all over our brown micro-fiber couch with blue pen. I got onto this site and read all of the above and used hand sanitiser and a soft scourer and the pen came right out(yes, there was some scrubbing to do but so worth it). Thank you sooo much, you saved my beloved lounge!!!!
I definitely didnt think the hairspray idea was going to work, but it worked like a charm and dried fast as well-- I sprayed it on a papertowel rather than directly on the stain!
My 2 y/o daughter got ahold of a blue pen and marked ALL over our brown couch. I mean, almost every last cushion. I hopped on here and searched for a way to get it out. I used the rubbing alcohol...45 minutes and a very sore wrist later, the stains are out. Thank you guys so much!!!
I heard that rubbing alcohol got pen out of microfiber....and my couch is white.....I blotted the pen stain with alcohol on a clean white cotton cloth , it took a little elbow grease but the stain came right out.
You definitely came to the right place!!! My couches are of the same material I have a little one who loves pens too...and markers, candy, chef boyardee, and anything else that stains!!! I have 2 words that I live by when it comes to keeping my couches/chairs looking new...SHOUT WIPES!!! You can locate them by the laundry stain removers. They come in a small box and contain individually packaged "to go" wipes. They are a life saver. I keep them in my purse for sudden spills or splats on clothing, cloth shoes, and even vehicle seats & carpet. They can be used on everything!!! I hope this works for you. You may have to use a couple wipes for stubborn stains, but they leave no after marks. Try them, I think you will like them.
My daughter drew a nice big flower on our old tan couch in the play room. The couch had some stains on it and such but her father got really mad but didn't say anything.
I came on here and saw a suggestion about hand sanitizer and it worked like a charm!
The flower was there for a good two weeks before we noticed it. New armed though, hand sanitizer will darken the color the slightest bit.
My son got black ink on my Mocha Brown microfiber couch. Bleach and alcohol are out of the question. It is going to cost me over $100.00 to get it done professionally. Help!!
Thanks Guys for the tip. I was out of rubbing alcohol so I used hand sanitizer as someone suggested and it worked wonders. I have very light beige micro fiber couch and the hand sanitizer immediately removed the ink stains.
The rubbing alcohol worked great with a white cloth......a lot of scrubbing tho....but the blue pen came right out of my beige micro fiber couch. Thanks guys
Rubbing alcohol was like magic! It erased the stain, and dried quickly. Glad I found this post! I hope no one listened to the one who said to use BLEACH! That sounds like a big mess!
You can apply any stain out or you can rub it with alcohol. You can also rub detergent and wash it with Clorox liquid bleach and detergent in hot water. Visit the following link for more information. Pen Ink Stains Removal
