More than likely you used more product than needed and didn't extract it all from the carpets.
Carpet cleaning agents are usually alkaline based as they attract typically acidic soils. When an alkaline or otherwise based cleaning agent is applied and not entirely removed it attracts soils at a rapid pace making carpets feel unusually sticky or slick. The easiest way to remedy your situation is to put very hot (not boiling) water into your consumer grade carpet cleaner and reclean your carpets using only the water and some patience. Be thorough but also be sure you extract as much of the water as possible. If this does not work feel free to contact me directly.
